This book club is dedicated to bringing women together and discussing the latest in African American literature. This book club meets once a month and focuses on discussing as well as coming together and building a strong bond that seems to be lacking in the Baltimore County community. The Leesburg Bluestockings gets its name from the 18th century literary club, The Blue Stocking Society. In 18th century England, Blue Stocking women supported each other in intellectual endeavors such as reading, artwork, and writing.
